Workshop Application and Process
You may contribute to the Societal Peace and Freedom Forum by organizing a workshop—either individually or on behalf of your institution—within the themes specified in the application form. You can apply for the workshop you wish to organize by clicking the link below. We need details about your proposed workshop in order to respond to you and provide the necessary support. For this reason, please fill out the Workshop Application Form as thoroughly and carefully as possible.
Application deadline: 28 February 2026, 23:59.
Applications will not be accepted after this date.
Workshop applications will be evaluated by the Forum Coordination Team, and applicants whose proposals are accepted will be contacted no later than 5 March. Notifications for rejected applications will be made no later than 8 March.
Workshop Evaluation Criteria
Evaluations will be based on the answers provided in the application form and carried out according to the following criteria:
- Does the workshop align with the aims of the Social Peace and Freedom Forum?
- Does the workshop support the Forum’s core principles of participation, pluralism, inclusivity, democratic process, and a space for critical dialogue?
- Does the workshop have a concrete output?
- Does the workshop contribute to the establishment of a culture of social peace and freedom?
- Does the workshop provide a horizontal and free communication space?
- Do the resources and available means of Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality (DMM) allow for the implementation of the workshop?
Frequently Asked Questions
- Will DMM provide payment to individuals and/or institutions for accepted workshops?
- DMM will not provide payment to individuals and/or institutions for accepted workshops, but it will cover transportation and accommodation for up to two workshop facilitators per workshop.
- Can DMM provide the necessary materials for accepted workshops?
- DMM may be able to support the provision of necessary materials for accepted workshops; however, this depends on what the materials are and how quickly they can be obtained. To help us assist you, please fill out the relevant section of the application form in detail. It is important that workshop facilitators clearly note which materials they can bring themselves and which they request DMM to provide.
- Can DMM allocate a venue for accepted workshops?
- DMM will allocate a venue for accepted workshops. Please clearly state what kind of space you need. We will try to provide the most suitable venue within the available possibilities.
- How long should workshops be?
- Workshops should be planned to take place between 12–16 May 2026, lasting at least one (1) day and at most five (5) days. To ensure that the theoretical framework and historical background can be addressed comprehensively, and that practical steps can be discussed sufficiently, each workshop planned for one (1) day should allocate at least five (5) hours. For example, the first part of a workshop may be scheduled from 10:00–12:00, lunch break from 12:00–13:00, and the second part from 13:00–15:00. For workshops lasting more than one (1) day, sufficient time should likewise be planned to allow for detailed engagement with the theoretical framework, historical background, and practical steps.
- Can multiple institutions submit a joint workshop application?
- Yes, multiple institutions may submit a joint workshop application.
