Societal Peace from the Youth Perspectives

Societal Peace from the Youth Perspectives
Workshops

About Event

This workshop, facilitated by the Youth Memory Collective, offers an inclusive space designed to highlight that young people are not passive observers in peace processes but active, influential agents of social transformation. The workshop aims to create a safe dialogue environment where young participants can speak freely based on their own experiences, emotions, and observations, thereby strengthening the capacity for truth‑telling, empathy, mutual understanding, and social healing. In this sense, it provides a platform where social ruptures can be openly discussed, differences can be explored through a pluralistic lens, and a shared vision for the future can be collectively imagined. As part of the workshop, a Youth Peace Dictionary will be created to capture how young people define peace and the values they associate with it. In addition, a short Youth Peace Declaration—reflecting participants’ ideas and perspectives on peace, truth‑seeking, and social justice—will be drafted to amplify the collective voice of young people.
