The aim of this interactive workshop, designed by the DEM Party Youth Assembly, is to bring back onto the agenda the role of youth in the socialization of peace and the strengthening of democratic politics, in the context of the process that gained momentum with Abdullah Öcalan's "Peace and Democratic Society Call" dated February 27, 2025. This workshop is also designed to discuss ways for young people—especially young women—to participate creatively and effectively in democratic politics, and to address the need to collectively define the rights, duties, and responsibilities of youth in the socialization of peace. Participants will gather in a roundtable format and conduct discussions under headings such as free youth identity, the role of young women, university and working youth, local democracy, and urban policies. At each table, a facilitator from the DEM Party Youth Assembly will follow the process, take notes, and offer contributions. At the end of the day, the output from each table will be shared with all participants; discussions may be presented in different formats (presentation, text, sketch, play, etc.). At the end of the workshop, all discussions will be turned into a recommendation report by the DEM Party Youth Assembly. This report will contain policy recommendations from youth regarding democratic politics, along with discursive and practical suggestions. Additionally, a supplementary report titled "Youth and Local Democracy" will be prepared and submitted to DEM Party-affiliated municipalities. In this way, the voice of youth will be reflected more effectively in politics and the public sphere, contributing to the creation of a ground where young people can feel themselves at the center of the process in the socialization of peace.
