“This event, titled "Jîn (Jinên Azad) Play and Q&A" and to be staged by Şanoya Bajêr a Amedê (Amed Şehir Tiyatrosu), is a theatrical work woven with women's voices, bodies, and memories. Drawing inspiration from the Kurdish women's quest for freedom, the play brings together poetry, music, and dance to carry the traces of resistance and solidarity onto the stage.
Directed by Mizgîn Bilmen, the play's choreography is by Bêrîvan Savgat, and its dramaturgy is by Berfîn Emektar. The work is nourished by the letters of Leyla Zana, the poems of Abdulla Peşew, and texts written by Berfin Emektar. The play uses body language to narrate women's experiences of struggle, their ways of coping with mourning, and their search for freedom.
It is an invitation that reminds us of women's participation in and taking of responsibility for peace processes. It calls the audience to an intimate and powerful journey woven with women's stories. A talk to be held after the play between the cast and the audience will attempt to respond to this call.
