A Kurdish politician who has been actively working in the political field to resolve the Kurdish issue since the 1990s. She is a strong advocate for women's rights and freedoms. In the early stages of the Syrian uprising, Ehmed participated in the establishment of the Democratic Society Movement (TEV-DEM). She later became a member of the Kurdish Supreme Council and a founding member of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of Rojava. Ehmed also participated in the establishment of the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) as a founding member and was elected as its co-chair. She is playing an active role in negotiations with the Damascus government. She is currently the Co-chair of the Foreign Relations Department of the Democratic Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.
