This workshop promotes social cohesion, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence through the Streetbolzer Fairplay concept, using street football as a practical and engaging tool to teach anti-racist and anti-discrimination methods. Children, young people, and adults are trained to apply Fairplay principles in their everyday lives, learning to recognise and challenge exclusionary behaviour through experiential learning and teamwork. By empowering participants to become active peacebuilders within their own communities, the workshop fosters empathy, equality, and dialogue among diverse groups, equipping them with concrete strategies to resolve conflicts fairly and inclusively. In doing so, it contributes directly to strengthening societal peace and promoting a culture of mutual understanding, aligning closely with the objectives of the Societal Peace and Freedom Forum.
The workshop pursues three interconnected aims. Firstly, it equips participants—children, young people, and adults—with practical knowledge and skills in anti-racism, anti-discrimination, and Fairplay principles, enabling them to handle conflicts peacefully, communicate respectfully, and include others regardless of background, gender, or origin. Secondly, it establishes a network of trained Fairplay Ambassadors, or "Young Leaders," who act as multipliers by applying and spreading these values within their neighbourhoods, schools, and local sports communities. Thirdly, the workshop strengthens community bonds by bringing diverse groups together in a shared, playful, and cooperative space, fostering trust, understanding, and collaboration—key elements for sustainable peace and social freedom. Through these outcomes, the project builds local capacity for peaceful coexistence and inclusive community action.
