Born in Diyarbakır in 1965, he dedicated much of his life to social and political work in the field of civil society. He held active roles in local governments, trade unions, associations, foundations, platforms, and political parties. He was among the founders of the Sarmaşık Anti-Poverty and Sustainable Development Association, established in 2006 through a joint initiative of the Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality and civil organizations in the city, but closed down by a Decree Law in 2016. He continues to contribute to local government work at the central level.
